Theovision International was founded in Ghana in May, 1989 by Rev. Theodore Asare, after nine years of missionary work in audio and television production in 15 countries.
Rev. Asare started the ministry in a small room in his house and then moved to a small office at the Methodist Headquarters in Accra. At the time, he had only one staff whose salary he could not afford to pay. It took five (5) years to complete the recording of the first audio New Testament in ‘Akuapem Twi’, his own native language with an old reel-to-reel tape recorder.
After sometime, Theovision International moved out of the Bible House, to a slightly bigger room. Later on, it moved to its present location, a more spacious property at Nmai Dzorn, near Ashalley Botwe, Accra Ghana. As the organization expanded, it began to work beyond Ghana, increasing its recordings, and setting up offices in Kenya and Nigeria to reach other African countries. Later Theovision International set up a new office in the United States.
Today, with access to computers and digital equipment and a committed workforce imbued with the spirit of commitment and sacrifice, our team of technicians is able to complete a New Testament recording within six weeks.
